How to Jumpstart Your Healthy New Year's Resolution, Part Two

Hobbies and Lifestyle Changes

What is your New Year’s resolution this year? If you have one, then you’ve come to the right place. We can’t guarantee advice on every single possible resolution, but we do have advice for some of the most popular resolutions out there! Diet, exercise, and fitness tend to be the top themes of New Year’s resolutions, however more and more people have been making resolutions to reduce stress, learn a new hobby or travel.

In our last blog, we talked about the most popular health-related resolutions; in this blog, we’ll be talking about resolutions that will definitely increase your quality of life without being a specifically health-related goal. These resolutions include new hobbies, lifestyle changes, and other ways to live life to the fullest.

If any of these are your New Year’s resolution, then check out the list below. Find some stellar advice for how to achieve your New Year’s resolution and how to avoid failing to complete it. You might even find some inspiration for a great resolution you hadn’t thought of yet!

If your resolution is…

1. To give back to your community, then read this blog on the many ways you can volunteer, donate, or support nonprofits for good causes. That blog was originally written for Giving Tuesday, but you don’t need to only volunteer or donate one day a year – you can (and should) give back year-round!

2. To become more environmentally friendly, then read this report on why more businesses (and people!) are going “green” than ever before. It’ll give you plenty of suggestions on green businesses that you should support when you start to make more eco-friendly choices in the New Year!

3. To start a journal or diary, then read this for a burst of inspiration. Journaling can honestly change your life, even if you don’t know it yet! And if this isn’t your resolution, then it probably should be, TBH.

4. To learn a new hobby, then pick up cooking! It’s a great skill to have and it can help you reach other goals, like eating healthier or saving money. Check out this blog on cozy recipes you can make during cold and flu season (that’s right now!) and this blog for healthier holiday recipes that, frankly, are delicious year-round.

5. To travel and see the world, then read this feature on the perfect healthy travel destination. Then, once you’re ready to get traveling, check out this guide full of invaluable resources and travel tips for saving your mind and body.
